The European Union Election Observation Mission (EU EOM) – Bangladesh 2026 has expressed its appreciation to the Bangladesh Election Commission for its support during the observation of the 13th National Parliamentary Election.
In a letter sent to the Senior Secretary of the Election Commission Secretariat on Monday (March 9), the mission formally conveyed its gratitude. The letter was signed by Roger Clayton, Security Expert of the EU Election Observation Mission.
The letter stated that the professionalism, coordinated efforts, cooperation and timely assistance provided by officials of the Election Commission significantly facilitated the work of the European Union observation team. It added that the support helped the mission gain a clear understanding of Bangladesh’s electoral environment, policies and procedural frameworks.
According to the mission, information, guidance and logistical support from commission officials enabled the observers to conduct their activities smoothly across the country. The letter also mentioned the support of several officials, including Brigadier General Azizur R Siddiqui, Project Director of IDEA (2nd Phase), Ruhul Amin Mollik, Director of Public Relations at the Election Commission, and Shahid Abdus Salam, Deputy Secretary and Security and Protocol Coordinator.
Concluding the letter, the EU Election Observation Mission expressed gratitude to the entire Election Commission team and hoped that mutual cooperation would continue in the future.
