Ethnic students get scholarship, bicycles from PM

In Satkhira, under the Development Assistance Programme for the Development of Special Areas of the Prime Minister's Office, scholarships and bicycles were provided to students belonging to ethnic minorities on Tuesday. 

Freedom Fighter Mir Mostaq Ahmed Robi, MP from Satkhira Sadar-2 constituency addressed the function as the chief guest under the chairmanship of Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Debashish Chowdhury held at Satkhira Sadar Upazila Auditorium.

Speaking as the chief guest, MP Robi said, "Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina thinks about all communities. Especially she thinks of the backward people of the society more. The scholarships and bicycles are being provided among the ethnic minority students to take them forward”.

From the Office of the Prime Minister, 30 bicycles were provided to 30 students and sholarship worth Tk 22,000 were provided to 68 other students belonging to small ethnic groups living in Satkhira Sadar Upazila.

Satkhira Sadar Upazila Project Implementation Officer Yarul Haque, Sadar Upazila Social Service Officer Sheikh Shahidur Rahman, Fingri UP Chairman Samsur Rahman and Sadar Upazila administration officials were present at the time.
