Erosion-hit people get grant in Madaripur

Cheques and rice were distributed among the distressed families affected by the river erosion at Kalkini in Madaripur on Monday afternoon.

It is known that during the last monsoon season, there was a massive breach in the Ariyal Kha River in Sahebrampur area of Madaripur. At that time, the administration made a list of the names of 59 extremely poor and distressed families who suffered losses in the collapse and sent it to the Ministry of Relief and Rehabilitation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. In this context, 8 hundred taka in cash and 30 kg of rice have been allocated in the name of each person in this list.

Kalkini Upazila Nirbahi Officer Pinki Saha, as the chief guest, distributed cheques and 30 kg of rice to each family at the Sahebrampur Union Parishad building on Monday afternoon at the Sahebrampur Union Parishad building under the chairmanship of Sahebrampur Union Chairman Murad Sardar. District Relief and Rehabilitation Officer Kazi Liakat Hossain, Upazila Project Implementation Officer Mustafa Kamal, Assistant Social Service Officer Moshiur Rahman, former Chairman of Sahebrampur Union Asaduzzaman Jamal and other senior officials were present at this time.
