Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Malek MP said, we do not lack infrastructure and equipment, but there is some lack of manpower.  Separate committees have been formed for manpower and hospital-clinic development work.  In the last 50 years where 15 thousand doctors have been recruited, it has tripled in two years of Corona.  The nurse also doubled.  Health care has come a long way because we have worked.  We have worked on this, we have entered the field.  Whatever measures need to be taken will be taken.  It should be ensured that the common people are getting proper medical care or else they should be held accountable.  We need to work together to improve the quality of health care.

He said these things in the chief guest's speech at the Chattogram, hill district Rangamati, Khagrachari and Bandarban health department officials organized at Hotel Radisson Blu Bay-View in Chattogram city on Sunday night.  Department of Health Chattogram divisional office organized the meeting.

Health Minister, Chattogram Divisional Director (Health) Dr. Md Sakhawat Ullah inaugurated the newly constructed Departmental Health Building adjacent to City Cinema Palace, paid tribute to Bangabandhu's portrait and visited Bangabandhu Corner on Monday.

Zahid Malek said, our infrastructure development has been done a lot.  Service quality has increased in private hospitals as well as government hospitals.  Disease operations like brain tumour, bypass surgery are being done in the country.  There is no shortage of medicine.  We don't want everyone to be bad for a few.  The government is trying to improve health services.  But this effort has been somewhat disrupted due to the Corona epidemic.  The activities of the Medical College Hospital have been kept under monitoring from the Union.  X-ray, anesthesia and ultrasonogram machines and manpower in the hospital are being checked whether people are getting service or not.

The health minister said that public representatives and hospital heads have many responsibilities.  It should be seen whether the doctor and nurse come properly or not, whether they are at work or not.  Hospital toilets and beds must be sparkling.  Only then the environment of providing international quality services will be right.  And it is the responsibility of the hospital board to see if it is being done properly or not.  There is no substitute for leadership for proper and timely health management.  The country's 10-bed hospitals will soon be upgraded to 31 beds.  80 percent.
