Miscreants killed a cow by burning it alive and injured three other cows through burning  those severely by setting fire on a cow-shed at Santoshpur village  under Shariatpur sadar upazila on Wednesday night.

Ferdousi Akhter, assistant teacher of a government primary school, said that she woke up around 1: 30 am at night and watched the fire blazing at her cow-shed. She raised a cry and local people rushed to the spot and douzed the fire. One of her cows has been burnt to coal and three others have been injured badly by burning. More than 60 percent of the body of those three cows have been burnt, she added.

She also said that there is no electric connection with the cow-shed and no other way to get fire from any other sources. At the same time, while the inmates of the house adjacent to the cow-shed were busy in dousing fire, some unidentified miscreants entered into the rooms and decamped with a cash money of Taka 35,000 from a room and Taka 28,000 from another room.

She further informed, some organised miscreants were active in Santoshpur area to create panic among the villagers by burning straw-heaps, kitchen and setting ablaze in cow-sheds of the village.
