English Jubilee Lit Fest at JU begins today

A literary festival titled ‘English JUbilee Lit Fest 2021’ aiming to provide a platform for the students to interconnect across the globe begins today at Jahangirnagar University.  The English department of JU arranges the program.

Presided by chairman of the English Department professor Laizu Nasrin, JU vice chancellor professor Farzana Islam will inaugurate the three day long virtual program on Friday evening.

Meanwhile dean of the faculty of arts and humanities professor Md Mozammel Hoque will present as a special guest on the program, which will serve a solution of the reported trauma and tantrum triggered by the current COVID-19 pandemic.

Convener of the program professor Mashrur Shaheed Hossain told that the initiative had been taken in order to interact students across space, share knowledge and insight through great conversations marking the 50 year founding anniversary of the department as well as the country and the university. 

The title of our inaugural ceremony represents our effort into empathic intellectual interaction and it will promote understanding in a spirit of learning and hope, he added.

A total of 40 writers, cinematographer, columnist, translators, open thinker, young entrepreneur across the globe will speak on the program choked up with 18 sessions.
