Information Minister and Awami League Joint Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud said that the BNP had held a 'series meeting' and said that they would not go to any election under the Awami League government. But elections are not held under any government, elections are held under the Election Commission.

"There is no point in dreaming of a caretaker government," Minister said.

Dr Hasan Mahmud was speaking as the chief guest at a seminar on the occasion of the 29th death anniversary of former MP MM Nazrul Islam at Brajgopal Town Hall in Char Fashion Upazila of Bhola on Saturday afternoon. Bhola-4 MP Abdullah Al Islam Jakob addressed the meeting as a special guest under the chairmanship of Principal Kaiser Ahmed Dulal, Vice Chairman of Nazrul Islam Foundation. After landing in Char Fashion at noon, Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud paid homage to Bangabandhu by placing a wreath at his portrait.

The Information and Broadcasting Minister further said that when elections are held, the administration officials are not under the government, their responsibility goes to the Election Commission. The Election Commission conducts elections independently. The government cannot transfer DC, SP, UNO then. All goes into the hands of the Election Commission.

Dr Hasan Mahmud highlighted the development work of the government at that time and said that the face of every person in the country has changed today. People cannot be seen on bare feet and in torn clothes. This change is not due to any magic, this country has changed today under the magical leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. BNP leaders said, this government cannot build Padma Bridge. But Sheikh Hasina's government has shown that the Padma Bridge is almost complete.

‘I am looking forward to the day when BNP leaders will drive over the Padma Bridge’, Minister added.

The Awami League joint general secretary added, "When we talked about digital Bangladesh in 2008, many people did not understand the meaning of it." Now Digital Bangladesh is no longer a dream, it is a reality. Now money can be transacted at home, admission to university can be applied, the farmer gets the solution by sending pictures of the problem from the field. This is Digital Bangladesh.

Earlier, the Information Minister exchanged views with local journalists at the residence of MP JaKob. Speaking as the chief guest at the meeting chaired by Bhola Press Club President M Habibur Rahman, the minister said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's government believes in the development of the entire country. The development of the nation and the state lies in the development of the whole country. That is why the government is working towards the goal of development in every corner of the country.

While inspecting various development activities of Char Fashion, Bhola Deputy Commissioner Md Toufiq-E-Leahi Chowdhury, Superintendent of Police Md.Kaiser, Upazila Parishad Chairman Joynal Abedin Akhand, Municipal Mayor Mohammad Morshed were with the Minister.
