Touhidur Rahman Awal, vice-president of Bangladesh Jatyiotabadi Chatra Dal (JCD), said just as food is essential for survival, election is crucial for establishing democracy.
He came up with the assertion while speaking at a student rally as a chief guest on Monday morning.
Leaders and activists of Bangladesh Jatyiotabadi Chhatra Dal distributed leaflets outlining the 31-point state reform plan of Tarique Rahman, Acting Chairman of BNP.
Touhidur Rahman Awal, pointing at the interim government, said the fallen Awami League is still engaged in anti-national conspiracies. They are attempting to create unnecessary instability in the country. Therefore, an elected government is essential to bring the nation to a fully stable state.
He also said, as part of countering anti-national conspiracies, the malicious attempts of oppressing forces to dominate the curriculum and education policy must be resisted, and the rightful ownership of education and educational institutions must be restored. Efforts must be made to create a humane, tolerant, just, inclusive, and equitable society through a student-friendly education system. The state must act as a supportive force in establishing a trained, productive, and employment-oriented youth community.
