An elderly woman was allegedly hacked to death by miscreants in Rajbari's Pangsha upazila on Tuesday morning.
The incident took place early in the morning in Premtia area under Sharisha union parishad of the upazila. The victim was Asha Lata Dash, 75, a resident of that area. Sharisha UP Chairman Ajmal Al Bahar said someone beat and hacked the woman to death in the morning. But she had no enemies and lived alone in the house. It seemed that thieves or drug addicts might have caused this incident for some reasom.
Pangsha Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Swapan Kumar Majumdar confirmed the news. The OC said, police recovered the body and sent it to morgue for autopsy. Legal action is under process in this regard, the OC added.
