A 52-year-old man allegedly raped a minor girl in Jhikorgacha Upazila of Jashore district on Friday.
The victim is a class II student of Ramchandrapur Government Primary School of the upazila. Following the incident, victim’s father filed a case with the Jhikargachha Police Station. Police ae yet to arrest the rapist Nur Mohammad from Ramchandrapur village of the upazila. According to the case statement, Nur to the girl a banana orchard by luring her on Friday afternoon and then raped her.
As the girl began screaming, locals rushed in then the man ran away. Jhikargachha Police Station OC Abdur Razzak confirmed the matter to the Bangladesh Post. Police are trying to arrest the suspect as the accused went into hiding since the incident , he added.
