Police arrested an elderly man named Abu Taleb, 65, for trying to violate a class 3 student, 10, in Bogura's Nandigram.
The incident took place at Kamulya Chaknathkhola village in Buril union of the upazila on Saturday night. The child is a third grader at a local primary school. It is learned that in the evening, Abu Taleb took the third grader into the forest next to his house and tried to violate her. At the shout of the victim, neighbours came forward and held Abu Taleb.
After receiving the news, police arrested Abu Taleb and took him to the police station. The student's father Jotin Rabidash filed a case with Nandigram police station in this regard.
Nandigram Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Shawkat Kabir said, a case has been filed with the police station for attempted violation and Elderly Abu Taleb, the accused, has also been arrested.
