‘Ekushey Book Fair will be named after Bangabandhu’

Amar Ekushey Book Fair of 2020 in the port city will be dedicated to the name of Bangabandhu. 

The Creative Publication Council and the civil society writers and literary-cultural organizations will assist Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) in organizing the fair.

The meeting was held as the chief guest at the meeting, CCC mayor AJM Nasir Uddin announced this after a views-exchange meeting with the publishers on Tuesday afternoon.

In the meeting, the mayor stressed on organizing the Ekushey Book Fair-2020 with enthusiasm in honor of the 100th birth anniversary of Bangabandhu next year.

He said next year the Ekushey Book Fair will take place from February 10 to March 2 at the city's Gymnasium Ground. Emphasizing the formation of a 13-member committee to organise the fair, he advised the committee to engage the people of the appropriate class-profession. Literary journalist Arun Das Gupta, Nitai Kumar Bhattacharya General Manager of Bangladesh Television and former president of Chittagong Press Club Kalim Sarwar were present at the meeting.
