Bangladesh Television (BTV) broadcasted a special tele-drama titled 'Ek Cup Thanda Cha' (A Cup of Cold Tea) in observance of Shaheed Buddhijibi Dibosh (Shaheed Intellectual Day) on Thursday. Written by Mamunur Rashid, the drama is produced by L. Ruma Akter.

The cast of the drama includes Mamunur Rashid, Dolly Zahur, Sharmin Zoha Shoshee, Saharan, Shubashish Bhowmik, Sayeed Sumon, Arif Hossain, Sujat Shimul, and Apple Ahmed, among others.

In the story of 'Ek Cup Thanda Cha,' a mofussil doctor, without a higher degree, becomes immensely popular among his patients. He leads a simple life with his wife, daughter, and compounder. Despite being a government job holder, he travels around the village, providing medical care to patients.

During the Liberation War in 1971, he treated and cured many injured individuals. Although the Pakistani army became aware of his activities, he was confident that they would not harm him because he was a doctor.

In a cruel twist of fate, on December 14, when the country was on the brink of victory, the Pakistani Army and their collaborators captured him. He never returned after that.

Fifty-two years have passed since the morning tea in which he was served had grown cold. Meanwhile, his wife has passed away, his daughter has aged, and the river that runs past his town has dried up and narrowed. But life goes on. The tea may get cold, but the world doesn't stop.
