Bangladesh Police took various measures, including the use of speed guns, to ensure a smooth Eid-ul-Azha journey. As a result, vehicle movement and traffic remained normal, making the public’s Eid travel safe and comfortable.

Police Headquarters reported that overspeeding is generally considered one of the main causes of road accidents. Controlling the speed of vehicles using speed guns and preventing unauthorised passenger transport have reduced road accidents.
From June 13 to 18, the Bangladesh Police used speed guns at 556 locations on various highways and roads across the country. During this period, 1,458 cases were made for overspeeding. Legal action was taken against 583 vehicles for transporting passengers in non-public transport. Additionally, police set up checkpoints at 2,014 locations to take action against various types of transport. A total of 7,102 cases were filed during this period.
The Bangladesh Police will continue these activities to reduce road accidents and ensure the public's safe and comfortable travel.
