Education stipends, educational materials and bicycles have been provided to the indigenous students of Natore Sadar Upazila in the fiscal year 2019-20 under the project titled Special Area Development Assistance from the Prime Minister's Office for Indigenous Peoples in the Plains.
Local MP Shafiqul Islam Shimul MP distributed the stipends, materials and bicycles among the ethnic minority students at the auditorium premises of Natore Sadar Upazila on Thursday noon.
Presided over by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Jahangir Alam, the meeting was attended by Upazila Chairman Shariful Islam Ramzan, Women Vice-Chairman Kamrun Nahar Kajal, Vice-Chairman Abdullah Al Sabik Baki, District Branch President of National Tribal Council Pradeep Lakra, General Secretary Kalidas Roy and others. During the programme, 377 students were given education stipends, 191 people were given educational materials, 100 people were given self-help materials and 30 meritorious students were given bicycles.
