Eco-friendly e-bike going to be manufactured in Bangladesh

Skoot and Walton are going to manufacture eco-friendly and advanced technology e-bikes in Bangladesh soon.

For this, Skoot Ltd and Walton Digi-Tech Industries Ltd signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Thursday evening at Walton’s corporate head office in Bashundhara in the capital, to jointly manufacture e-bikes. 

This memorandum of understanding between iDEA portfolio startup Skoot and Walton was signed by KaziRidwanAhamed, the Managing Director of Skoot, and MdTouhidur Rahman, the Chief Business Officer of Walton Digi-Tech Industries Ltd.

iDEA project portfolio startup “Skoot” is moving ahead with its commitment to produce eco-friendly and advanced technology e-bikes. The startup received a pre-seed grant from the iDEA project in 2022.

At this time, Skoot's directors Sihab Khan and Parth Roy, and Walton Digi-Tech Industries Ltd's Head of Marketing MdTaufiq Imam, Deputy Assistant Director of Sales Fuad Rahman and Deputy Director - EbikeKaikobadSiddiquie were present among others.

According to the MoU, Skoot and Walton commit to manufacturing eco-friendly and advanced technology e-bikes in Bangladesh soon. 

Both companies aim to create high-quality and advanced products while improving the riding experience for customers. Through this strategic partnership, both companies hope to create a better future for the e-bike industry.

Along with other startups, Skoot is growing rapidly as a portfolio startup of iDEA Project. In addition to grants, iDEA Project also provides startups with regular mentoring, training and networking as per their necessities and free use of co-working space. Shohag Chandra Das, Consultant & the Lead of communication of the iDEA project, shared that along with increasing the skills of startups, it is also playing a significant role in the development, promotion and expansion of business.

Meanwhile, the Innovation Design and Entrepreneurship Academy (iDEA) Project of the Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) under the ICT Division is working tirelessly under the proper guidance and direction of Zunaid Ahmed Palak, State Minister of ICT Division, with the aim of enriching the startup culture in Bangladesh with development activities related to innovation and entrepreneurship. 

Since its beginning in 2016, the iDEA project has sanctioned grants of Tk10 lakh each to 385 potential startups at the pre-seed stage. 

Meanwhile, several startups are doing well, which is considered very positive by the iDEA authorities. "Skoot Ltd." is one of the promising startups among them.
