Eastern Railway General Manager (Additional Responsibilities) Sardar Shahadat Ali has directed the officials and employees of the railways to look into increasing the passenger service on the train.
He was speaking as the chief guest at a discussion meeting on transport and commercial issues with station masters, yard masters, inspectors and staff of important stations of Chittagong division at the conference room of CRB general manager of Railways on Monday evening.
Railway Eastern Chief Commercial Manager Mohammad Nazmul Islam presided over the function. Chief Mechanical Engineer Fakir Mohammad Mohiuddin, Chief Engineer Sabuktagin, Divisional Manager Sadequr Rahman, Super CCM Mizanur Rahman and Super COPS Sujit Kumar Biswas were present, among others.
The meeting discussed in detail the issues at the field level in terms of safe train movement, passenger service, freight transport, prevention of ticket black market, cleanliness and revenue generation. Future railway business plan is discussed. Shahadat Ali gave various directions to operate safe trains on time and increase revenue.
He said the present government has taken up many projects for the development of railways. Some of which have already ended and some are ongoing. We need to be more careful in fulfilling our responsibilities to bring these benefits of development to the doorsteps of the people.
