Sohan hits century

East Zone face off North in final

East Zone and North will take on each other in the Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL) ODI final at Sher-E-Bangla Stadium, Mirpur, Dhaka tomorrow. 

Meanwhile, Habibur Rahman Sohan hit a brilliant century as North Zone reached final in the Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL) ODI match, recording eight wickets win over Central Zone at Sheikh Kamal International Stadium Ground -2 in Cox’s Bazar on Thursday. 

In the day’s other match, East Zone registered a seven-wicket win over South Zone in a low scoring match to seal their final berth at the Ground-1 at the same venue. 

Sohan hammered 117 runs from 61 deliveries with nine fours and the same number of six as North Zone reached the target 203 for 2 from 24.4 overs. 

Left hand opening batter Tanzid Hasan make 34 off 24 balls. Tanzid and Habibur Rahman Sohan scored 140 runs in the first wicket partnership from 11.3 overs. 

Middle order batter Abdullah Al Mamun and Amit Hasan were unbeaten, they managed 20 and 21 runs respectively. 

Central Zone Right Arm medium pacer Anamul Haque and Right Arm off break bowler Jishan Alam took one wicket a piece conceding 20 and 13 runs respectively. 

Earlier, North Zone won the toss and sent to Central Zone batting first. Central Zone were bundled out 201 from 48.1 overs. Wicket keeper cum batter Mahidul Islam Ankon was not out 67 and skipper Saif Hasan scored 47 for the team.

Pacer Shohidul Islam claimed four wickets conceding 41 runs.   

Being sent to bat first, South Zone were dismissed 207 from 41.3 overs which they were eliminated from the race. Middle order batter Mosaddek Hossain batted lonely to hit 47 off 53 balls with three fours and three six. 

Right Arm off Break bowler Nayeem Hasan claimed four wickets at cost of 55 runs from his 10 over spell. 

East Zone reached the target 211 for 3 from 39 overs. Zakir Hasan made 99 runs and he was run out by Mohammad Mithun.
