Volunteers of Red Crescent Youth Chattogram under Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRSC) held an awareness announcement programme for the people living riskily in the hills of Jangal Salimpur area in Sitakunda Upazila under BDRSCR Chattogram District Unit on Saturday.
They instructed the people living in the hills to move to other places as there is a risk of landslide due to the recent heavy rain.
The volunteers held an awareness announcement programme using microphone for the safety of lives and properties of the lower class people living at the foothills and to save them from accidents during the monsoon.
Moreover, a special team of youth volunteers were formed to conduct search and rescue drives in the area in times of unforeseen danger, along with the awareness announcement programme.
The awareness programme was held under the instructions and directions of Chattogram Zilla Parishad Chairman and BDRSC Chattogram District Unit Chairman ATM Piyraul Islam.
Management Committee member of BDRSC Chattogram District Unit Shahadat Hossain Rumel and youth chief of Red Crescent Youth Chattogram Krishno Das, along with youth volunteers were present in the programme.
