Dumrai canal in Natore being reexcavated

The re-excavation work of Dumrai canal was inaugurated at Bagatipara in Natore on Wednesday morning. 

Local MP Shahidul Islam Bakul from Lalpur-Bagatipara constituency as the chief guest inaugurated the re-excavation work of the five km Dumrai canal from Haria channel to Mamudpur channel in Sonapur Pabnapara area under Dayarampur Union of the upazila. 

Notably, farmers of some villages surrounding the canal were suffering from various problems including crop damage, as the canal had not been re-excavated for almost 40 years. 

The long-standing expectations of the farmers are being met due to the implementation of this re-excavation project at a cost of Tk 36 lakh 61 thousand. 

At the time of the inauguration, Sajjad Hossain, Executive Engineer of BADC Natore Region, Momrez Ali, Agriculture Officer of the Upazila and officials of different levels were present among others.
