DU VC leaves for China to join educational events

Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman on Sunday left Dhaka for China on a five-day official visit at the invitation of Vice-President of Yunnan University Prof Dr HU Jinming. 

The visit holds great significance as it aims to bolster academic and research partnerships between Dhaka University and esteemed Chinese institutions.

One of the key highlights of this visit will be his participation in the Board meeting of the Confucius Institute of Yunnan University, where discussions on educational collaboration and cultural exchange are expected to take center stage.

During his stay in China, the DU VC will engage in a series of high-level meetings and bilateral talks with authorities from Yunnan University.

The primary goal is to further strengthen the existing collaborative academic and research programs between Dhaka University and Yunnan University. This visit signifies a commitment to fostering deeper academic ties and knowledge sharing between the two renowned institutions.

In addition to his engagements at Yunnan University, Prof. Dr. Akhtaruzzaman will also visit the prestigious Shanghai Institute of International Studies. There, he will engage in bilateral talks with its President, Prof. Dr. Chen Dongxiao. These discussions will encompass a wide range of topics, including the exploration of possibilities for joint collaborative academic, research, innovation, cultural, and other programs between Dhaka University and the Shanghai Institute of International Studies.

This visit underscores Dhaka University's commitment to global academic engagement and international collaboration.

He is expected to return to Dhaka on October 12. During his absence, Dhaka University’s Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) Prof. Dr. ASM Maksud Kamal will shoulder the routine responsibilities of the Vice-Chancellor.
