DU student killed in covered van collision in Dhaka

A student of the Department of Fine Arts of Dhaka Univeristy was fatally wounded by being  knocked down with a covered van at Bhatara Natun Bazaar area around 7-00 pm ( evening) on Monday ( 21 September).  

After being seriously injured, Radia Niti was rushed to Kurmitola General Hospital where she succumbed to her injuried around 8-00 pm. 

The victim was identified as Radia Niti (22) daughter of Reazul Karim Farazi of village Behertola under Shibchar upazila of Madaripur district.   Elder among three siblings, Sadia Niti used to live with her family members at Principal road of Bhatara Natun Bazaar area. 

Sadia Reza Tonny, younger sister of victim informed, Niti had been a third-year student of the Department of Fine Arts of DU. Besides her studies, she also joined as a Designer of Room Decorator at Paltan early this month. She had been returning home after finishing his duties on Monday evening. While she had been crossing the street infront of American Garage at Natun Bazaar, she was knocked down by a speedy covered van. Later police rescued her and took her to Kurmitola General Hospital where the attending doctors declared her dead. 

Muktaruzzman, Officer-in-charge of Bhatara Police station informed, the covered van has been seized and the driver of the vehicle has been held.  Dead body of the victim has been sent to the morgue for autopsy.
