DU plans to enhance skill of graduates

The Dhaka University authorities have taken the ‘Graduate Promotion and Skill Development'Programme to achieve Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) by creating skilled human resources and making employable candidates for a highly competitive market in the national and international spheres. The main aims of the programme are to teach languages and corporate skills to make them employable. 

The decision was taken at a syndicate meeting chaired by DU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Md. Akhtaruzzaman on 8 April said a statement made by DU Public Relation officer Mahmood Alam.

The Statement said, The Dhaka University authorities will conduct inter-relations and inter-cooperation exchange agreements with various universities, institutions, departments, industry and institutions at home and abroad under the ‘Graduate Promotion and Skill Development ' programme. Initiatives will be taken to teach students Bangla, English, and any other international language. Special training will be provided to teach practical knowledge to make employable graduates for national, international, multinational government, and private institutions.

Under the same programme, the deans of the faculties with the chairman of their respective faculties and directors of the institute concerned will provide one or two weeks manually training project for the graduate students to instruct about corporate etiquette and manner, communications and presentation skills, use of technology, language skills, etc.
