Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor, Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, announced that sacrificial animal waste will be removed within 24 hours, starting at 2 PM on the day of Eid. He urged residents to complete their sacrifices within two days to facilitate this process.
Mayor Taposh shared these details with reporters after visiting Jatiya Eidgah Maidan on Wednesday morning.
The mayor emphasised the importance of adhering to this timeline, noting that sanitation workers will be working continuously for three to four days. Additionally, waste from animal markets will be cleaned within 72 hours.
He assured that all necessary measures have been taken to maintain order at the animal markets, enabling Dhaka residents to purchase sacrificial animals easily. Steps have also been taken to prevent traffic jams caused by the slaughtering of animals.
Regarding the preparations for Eid-ul-Azha at the Jatiya Eidgah, Taposh mentioned the possibility of heavy rain on Eid day and confirmed that preparations are being made accordingly.
He also noted that the President will pray at the Jatiya Eidgah and that all arrangements have been made to ensure a smooth Eid congregation.
This year, 35,000 people will be able to pray at Jatiya Eidgah Maidan, with the Eid Jamaat scheduled for 7:30 am. Mayor Taposh encouraged all men and women to participate in the Eid prayers.
