Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Friday predicted that weather may remain dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country in the next 24 hours of Saturday.
"Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country," said a Met Office release.
It also said that the well-marked low over Southwest Bay and adjoining area intensified into a depression over the same area. It then moved west-northwestwards, crossed north Tamil Nadu - south Andhra Pradesh coast between Puducherry and Chennai by Friday morning.
It is likely to move in a west-northwesterly direction further, weaken gradually and become unimportant. Trough of low lies over North Bay.
Night and day temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, the release also said.
