Drug peddlers held with phensedyl

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-11 conducted a raid at Meghna Ghat, arrested three drug peddlers with contraband phensedyl syrup at Sonargaon Police Station in the district at early hours of Sunday.   RAB also seized a blue coloured covered van which was used to carry the narcotics. 

 The arrested are identified as Johirul Alam, 32, resident of Kharna village under Potia Police Station in Chattogram district, Jamal Hossain, 28, resident of Noapara village under Choddogram Police Station in Cumilla district and Akash, 19, resident of Adarshagram under Sundorgonj Police Station in Gaibandha district.  

Additional police super of RAB-11 Md Jasimuddin Choudhury in a brief claim that he was earlier in front and accordingly set up a checkpost at Meghna Ghat and searching the covered van arrested the drug peddlers with narcotics. He added that the apprehended peddlers apparently admitted their involvement with narcotics peddling.   A case under narcotics control act has been filed with Sonargaon Police Station in this connection.
