Miscreants killed a drug peddler named Azad Hossain Bablu alias fighter Bablu of village Uttar Joypur under Lakshmipur Sadar by stabbing repeatedly beside a pond of Uttar Joypur union, half kilometre away from his house Sunday night. Police said the murder might be a sequel of the row of drug trading.
On Monday morning, police visited the spot and the autopsy of dead Bablu was performed at Lakshmipur Sadar hospital in the noon.
Locals informed, Bablu was involved in drug trading and terrorist activities in the area. On April 11, police arrested Bablu for opening gunfire on drug peddler Rubel Hossain at Beparibari area of Purba Chowpalli village under the Sadar Upazila. Recently, Bablu was granted bail from the court. His opponent gang of terrorists stabbed him dead. Medical sources informed the ankle of the left hand of Bablu was severed with sharp weapons. Moreover, there are deep cut marks on his chest, head, hands, legs and various places of the body.
Muhammad Foyzuk Azim, Officer-in-Charge of Chandraganj PS informed, police arrested Bablu in a case several days ago. Later, the court granted him the bail. He was involved with the drug peddling. It is thought that people from his opposition group had killed him by stabbing repeatedly. His dead body was sent to the Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. Police started a drive to arrest the miscreants, he added.
