Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-11 detained a drug peddler with 447 bottles of contraband phensedyle syrup from Dhaka-Chattagram Highway at Mouchak Bus Stand under Shiddhirganj police station area in Narayanganj early on Friday. The arrestee was identified as Md Nur Karim, 47, of Modhupur village in Feni.
Assistant police super of RAB-11 Md. Nazmul Hasan in a briefing claimed that on secret information, they searched a Dhaka-bound truck and recovered 447 bottles of phensedyle syrup and arrested the drug peddler. Narcotics carrying truck was also seized. The arrestee apparently admitted that he peddled drug in Dhaka and Narayanganj brought from others district, Nazmul said. A case was filed under Narcotics Control Act.
