The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained a drug vendor and seized 200 bottles of Phensedyl in two separate drives in Jhenaidah, BGB 58 battalion assistant director Narul Islam Khan confirmed the matter.
BGB sources said that on information, BGB conducted drive at a pond side at village Goplapur, about 100 yards away from the zero line Monday afternoon.
The team led by Havilder Abdur Rahman managed to nab drug vendor Bisha Mollah, son of Kashem Mollah of village Mandarbaria in Moheshpur upazila with 100 bottles of contra buanned phensedyl syrup.
In another drive, the same team conducted anti-smuggling drives at a field at Kanaidanga village of the upazila at about 9.30 pm and recovered 100 bottles of the contra banned, while the owner of the item could not be nabbed.
They handed ove the detained drug vendor and seized contra banned to Moheshpur police staion after filing a case with the police staion under drug control act, BGB 58 battalion assistant director added.
