Police, in a drive, detained a drug peddler along with 160 bottles of contraband phensedyl syrup from Daulotpur Konpara area under Pirganj Upazila of Thakurgaon on Sunday.
The detainee was identified as Hussain Ali 33, son of Suruj Ali hailed from Dastompur Modhyopara village of the district.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Pirganj Police Station Pradip Kumer Roy said acting on a tip off, a team of police led by ASI Aminul Haque conducted a drive beside Konpara area on Sunday morning.
At that time, Police challenged Hussain Ali. Later, they recovered 160 bottles of contraband Indian phensydyl from his body.
A case has been filed with Pirganj Police Station in this connection.
