A Narayanganj court has awarded life term imprisonment to a drug peddler.
Additional District and Session Judge in Narayaganj Razia Sultana delivered the verdict in a crowded courtroom on Tuesday.
The court also fined the convict Tk. 5,000, in default, suffer six months more imprisonment.
The convict drug peddler is Jahagir Alam, son of Robiullah of Monghalkhali village of Rupganj upazila.
According to the public prosecutor Jasmin Ahmed, the drug peddler was detained by Detective Branch (DB) of police from Rupganj in Narayanganj on February 7 in 2011 with heroin.
