Drug dealer stabs two policemen in Jibonnagar

Two members of the District Detective (DB) Police were stabbed by a drug dealer in Jibonnagar Upazila of Chuadanga. They were given first aid at Jibonnagar Upazila Health Complex. At that time, the accused Shri Rajan Biswas (28) was arrested by the District Detective (DB) Police along with 48 bottles of phensidyl.

The incident took place on Sunday (February 18) around 9:00 pm in Boyargari field area of Santoshpur village of Jibonnagar upazila. The injured policemen are - Chuadanga District Detective Police (DB) Constable Md. Asadul Islam and Md. Shakib Hossain. 

The arrested drug dealer is the son of Shri Dilip Biswas of Pawahati village of Jhenaidah Sadar Upazila.

According to DB Police sources, a team of Chuadanga District Detective Police conducted an anti-narcotics operation in Bayargari area of Jibonnagar Upazila on Sunday night. When Rajan Biswas was arrested with drugs on the Byargari road, his cohorts started scuffle with the police. At one point, Rajan attacked the police with a sharp knife (dagger). Two DB policemen were injured in the attack.

Upazila Health Complex Emergency Department Doctor Dr. SM Ataur Rahman said, a DB police member named Asadul Islam was injured by sharp weapons. Two stitches were given to one policeman and another member of the DB Police, Shakib Hussain, sustained minor injuries. He was also given first aid. Also one person named Rajan was given first aid.

In this regard, District Intelligence Police Inspector (OC) Ferdous Wahid said that two policemen were injured by stabbing during the anti-narcotics operation. At that time, the drug dealer Rajan, who attacked the policemen, was arrested with drugs.
