Drug dealer held with arms, hemp in Kurigram

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested an alleged drug trader with illegal arms, ammunition and smuggled hemp from Purbo Phulmoti village under Phulbari upazila of Kurigram on Saturday night. “A special operational team of RAB-13 conducted a raid and arrested the drug trader around 8 pm from the spot,” said a press release issued here on Sunday by Media Officer of RAB-13 Major Galib Muhammad Natikur Rahman.

The elite force recovered a one-shooter gun with one round of live bullet and seized five-kilogram of smuggled hemp and one mobile phone set and cash money from his possession. The arrested drug trader is Mansur Ali, 38, son of late Amin Ali hailed from frontier village Gojerkuthi under Phulbari upazila of Kurigram district. The arrested person admitted that he had been leading a syndicate of trading drugs and narcotics substances for a long and a number of cases are pending against him with different police stations in Kurigram.
After filing a case in this connection, the elite force handed over the arrested man to Phulbari Police Station of Kurigram, the release added.
