Rapid Action Battalion (BAB) members arrested a drug dealer named Sirajul Islam (38) with 1.6 kg of cannabis in an anti-drug operation in Jibannagar upazila of Chuadanga on Thursday evening.
Detainee Sirajul is a resident of Hasadah village in Jivannagar upazila and son of Abdul Karim.
According to a press release issued by Jhenaidah RAB Camp on Friday, RAB members led by Sohail Parvez, Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police, Jhenaidah RAB-6, raided Hasadah Bazar in Jibannagar Upazila on Thursday evening on the basis of secret information.
Sirajul Islam, a drug dealer of the village, was arrested at that time along with 1 kg 600 gm of cannabis. He was later handed over to Jibannagar police station and a case was filed against him under the Narcotics Control Act.
