An accused in a drug case named Rasel has been snatched by his relatives after hacking and injuring two police personnel in Ghorakanda area of Bhairab town of Kishoreganj. The incident took place on Sunday (December 12) night at a Jamia rickshaw garage. Rasel is the son of Tamiz Uddin of Bhairabpur Uttarpara.
Later, additional police force from the police station came to the spot and rescued the injured and took them to Bhairab Upazila Health Complex.
At this time, the doctor on duty gave them the necessary treatment. Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Rezaul Karim was injured in the hand and neck and Abdul Karim in the hand.
According to police and locals, Rasel was arrested from Ghorakanda area of the city on Sunday night at around 8 pm on an arrest warrant in a drug case. ASI Rezaul Karim and Abdul Karim were interrogating him in the rickshaw garage of Jazmiya. At that time, a group of 20-25 people led by two drug dealers named Sunny and Mamun, armed with local weapons, attacked the police and injured the two policemen by snatching the accused Rasel.

Bhairab Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Golam Mostafa said the operation was underway to arrest the attackers including the fugitive accused. The injured policemen have been rested after initial treatment.
