Police have arrested two drug traders in Chattogram along with 21,700 pieces of yaba tablets.

They were arrested on Sunday night under the flyover at Kadamtali junction of the city's Double Mooring police station.

The arrestees were identified as Md Ramzan Ali (21) and Md Ramzan Ali (39).  They are a covered van driver and another helper.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (West) of Chittagong Metropolitan Police Pankaj Dutta said the driver and helper were walking suspiciously in front of the traffic police box under the flyover.  A search of a shopping bag with them later turned up 21,700 pieces of yaba.

Double Mooring Police Station OC Mohammad Mohsin said one was a driver and the other a helper.  They were carrying this yaba as a carrier of a person named Shahjahan.  They collected these yaba from a so-called 'Dulabhai' of Chittagong.

He said they get Tk 20,000 by delivering a consignment of yaba to the destination.  Usually come to Chittagong with goods.  He collects these yaba in the gap of product delivery.

A case has been filed against the driver-helper, fugitive Shahjahan and alleged Dulabhai at the city's Double Mooring police station.
