A mobile court of Chittagong City Corporation conducted drive to remove illegal establishments on Sagarika Road in Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) on Sunday.
The court also fined 15 businesses a total of Tk 1.37 lakh for illegally occupying roads, drains and sidewalks.
CCC Executive Magistrate Marufa Begum Neli and Special Magistrate (Joint District and Sessions Judge) Jahanara Ferdous jointly led the drive.
CCC officials, and Chattogram Metropolitan Police assisted them during the operation.
During the raid, the mobile court of corporation found illegal occupants on both sides of the road, sidewalk and drain of Sagarika Road under Pahartali Thana.
Most of these illegal occupations were iron scrap and large pipe shops.
Earlier, the CCC had issued notices and made PS announcement for several times to remove the occupants of illegal establishments in different parts of the city.
