Professor Dr ABM Siddikur Rahman Asrafi of Al-Quran and Islamic Studies department of Islamic University has been appointed as new dean of the Theology and Islamic Studies Faculty.
A press release was issued in this regard on Sunday (November 5) signed by university acting registrar HM Ali Hasan. He performs his post for the next two years, the press release confirmed.
Dr Asrafi replaced Professor Dr HANM Ershad Ullah. Professor Dr HANM Ershad Ullah, former dean of the faculty handed over the charge to the newly appointed dean on Saturday. The new dean started his office on Sunday morning. Dr Asrafi said, ‘The Theology faculty is the mother faculty of the university. But the present generation could not know this, because of some facts. The university was formed for theological studies, and after that the other faculty was formed to build up a connection between theological studies and general education.
Our former students are working abroad with better quality. We will try better to perform our educational activities with the contribution of teachers and students of the faculties.’
