Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) was awarded with the "Digital Bangladesh Award-2021" as the best government organization at the national level (general) for the ‘Shobar Dhaka’ mobile app.

The award was presented at the event organized on the occasion of Digital Bangladesh Day-2021 at Bangabandhu International Conference Center on Sunday morning.

DNCC launched the Citizen Engagement Management Platform ‘Shobar Dhaka’ app on January 10, 2021 under the direction of Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Md Atiqul Islam with the aim of bringing citizen services to the fingertips of the people. Through this app, the citizens of the areas covered by DNCC can raise the issues of roads, mosquitoes, lights, garbage, waterlogging, public toilets, sewers and illegal installations in their area directly with the City Corporation and build a healthy community. As a result of the app, citizens have been seamlessly connected with DNCC. To date, about 30,000 citizens have registered and informed the DNCC about a total of 11,038 problems in their area through

the app. Out of this 9,708 problems have been solved by DNCC, i.e. the solution rate is 90 percent.

The remaining 1,160 problems are in process. As a result of this uninterrupted connection with the citizens through the use of technology, the services of DNCC have become faster and more timely i.e. overall quality of citizen services has been improved.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina attended the event virtually as the chief guest. It was presided over by State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak. He handed over the prizes to the winners on behalf of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
