Today marks the final day of the three-day cleanup project conducted by the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) in 443 educational institutions under the areas of DNCC.
According to information provided by the Dhaka North City Corporation, the 'Healthy Environment for Education' program started on Wednesday and will continue till today. During the three days, special cleaning programs are being conducted in 443 educational institutions under the DNCC.
Mosquito eradication activities and yard or field cleaning is being carried out in 54 wards of the DNCC in this program, simultaneously three days. At the same time, mosquito workers have been spraying mosquito repellents in classrooms, toilets, roofs of the buildings and the courtyards.
On Wednesday, DNCC inaugurated a three-day special clean-up program at Gulshan Model School and College in Gulshan-2 area. DNCC Mayor Atiqul Islam inaugurated the special event.
He said, “In order to implement a healthy environment for education, Dhaka North City Corporation is conducting special 3-day clean-up activities in government, private and semi-government primary, secondary and colleges on September 8, 9 and 10.”
He added that special clean-up activities will be conducted on September 11 in the educational institutions where the mass vaccination activities of Covid-19 are being conducted. Special cleaning activities are being conducted in the educational institutions with the aim of implementing a healthy environment for education.
Authorities of the Diabari Adarsha High School told Bangladesh Post that the clean-up activities were executed effectively in the last couple of days by the DNCC.
“Cleaning activities in the school have been going on for a while now. The DNCc have done their bit and instructed us to continue to keep things clean until the 11th , until schools reopen,” said the school headmaster.
