In a regular anti-drug campaign carried out by the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), 62 persons were held for consuming and selling drugs in the capital.
According to a DMP statement issued today, as part of the campaign, the police raided different areas under various police stations and detained 62 drug abusers and recovered drugs from their possession from 6 am on Thursday (November 11) to 6 am on Friday (November 12).
During the anti-drug campaign, police seized 190 grams of heroin, 47.370 kilograms of cannabis, 2,922 pieces of yaba tablets and nine bottle of local liquor from them, it said.
Police filed 45 cases against the arrestees in this connection with police stations concerned under the Narcotics Control Act.
