Mymensingh’s newly appointed Divisional Commissioner, Farah Shammi, NDC, has expressed her determination to make the division the best in the country through public welfare initiatives. She called for the full cooperation of all officials to achieve this goal.
Speaking at a meeting with divisional-level officials on Wednesday (19 November), Commissioner Shammi emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts across departments. The meeting, chaired by Additional Divisional Commissioner Tahmina Akter in the conference room of the Divisional Commissioner’s office, was attended by all heads of divisional departments, including Md. Shawkat Ali, Additional Chief Engineer of the Roads and Highways Department, Mymensingh Zone.
Commissioner Shammi highlighted the need for support from all departments for the smooth conduct of the upcoming 13th national parliamentary election. “We must carry out our responsibilities diligently and work as a unified team across the division,” she said.
During the session, departmental heads briefed the Commissioner on recent progress and future plans. The Regional Election Officer provided a summary of election preparations in Mymensingh. The Director of Health reported that the division ranked first nationwide in typhoid vaccination, achieving 100% of the targeted supply. Other departments also presented updates on their activities.
Commissioner Shammi further stated, “Providing the highest level of service to the people is true patriotism. Every one of us has a responsibility to ensure services reach the grassroots. I will always stand by you in this mission.”
