Discussion on development of Ishwardi held

In order to transform Ishwardi into a visible modern city in Pabna, the officials of the 'Resilient Urban and Territorial Development Project (RUTDP) have held an exchange meeting with the mayor, officers, councilors and residents of Ishwardi municipality. Ishwardi Municipality organized this exchange meeting at the municipal conference room on Tuesday morning. Ishaq Ali Malitha, Mayor of Ishwardi Municipality presided over the meeting.

Sudhir Kumar Sharma, Chief Officer of Resilient Urban and Territorial Development Project highlighted the development work that will be done in Ishwardi to transform it into a modern city.

The works include modern bus terminal, community centre, children's park, foot wire bridge, renovation of animal hut, modern accommodation for cleaners, construction of public toilets along with construction of roads and drains. Sudhir Kumar Sharma said, Hon'ble Prime Minister's hope is to transform Bangladesh from Digital to Smart Bangladesh within the next 41 years.

Therefore, every city in the country should be converted into a modern city first. So the government has adopted a plan to modernize every city in the country.

He said that within the next seven years these projects will be worked on for the development of Ishwardi at a cost of 102 crore rupees. When the work is completed, Ishwardi will be visible in the modern city.

Mayor Ishaq Ali Malitha said, we all want to transform Ishwardi into a clean and modern city. Therefore, to realize the dream of Bangabandhu's daughter Hon'ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, everyone must work sincerely. Municipal Executive Officer (PNO) Zahurul Haque, Executive Engineer Abu Zafar, Panel Mayor Abul Hashem, Press Club President Mostak Ahmed Kiran, Teacher Moniruzzaman, Journalist Mohidul Islam and others spoke in this meeting.
