Decision Review System (DRS) has not yet been confirmed by Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) ahead of the upcoming five-match T20I series between Bangladesh and Australia. As the crew of the International Cricket Council (ICC) has not yet arrived in Bangladesh to conduct the DRS.

Even if the crew arrives, they may be subjected to the 14-day quarantine problem. However, with the government’s special authorization, the 14-day mandatory quarantine period has been reduced.

BCB chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury told Cricfrenzy, “The broadcaster is ready. Now an ICC technical crew has not yet arrived. If he comes we can conduct the DRS. We are ready to manage the DRS, it all depends on the crew,”

“The individual who will operate the DRS will be quarantined depending on the country from which he is coming. Because the 14-day quarantine has been reduced with the government’s special permission,” said Debashish Chowdhury, chief physician of the BCB.

Meanwhile, a broadcaster group has already arrived in Bangladesh to conduct the series. They have come to Bangladesh by road through Akhaura border due to restrictions on air travel.

“The crew has arrived here by road. They drove past the Akhaura border with special permission from the authorities. They are currently quarantined at the hotel. Because there are restrictions on air travel, they arrived by road,” explained Nizamuddin.

DRS is a technology-based method used in the game of cricket. Its main purpose is to review the controversial decision of the on-field umpire to dismiss the batsman.
