A digital platform has been launched to make the election manifestos, ideas and previous contributions of all candidates easily available for upcoming Jagannath University Central Students' Union (JnUCSU) elections. This platform named jnucsu.com was launched by the initiative of JnU CSE Club.
Through this platform, candidates will be able to create their electoral profiles and present their manifestos, thoughts, and past activities to university students. There will also be an opportunity to write blogs on any contemporary issue. Voters will also be able to directly express their opinions on various issues to their preferred candidates and express their opinions and expectations through blogs.
The initiative was led by Muammar Tajwar Asfi, Ahsanul Haque Abir, Muhammad Fatin Noor and Fatin Shahriar Siam, who are students of the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) department of Jagannath University.
Muammar Tajwar Asfi said, “As most of the JnU students stay far away from campus, it is a big challenge for candidates to reach everyone. This platform, jnucsu.com, has removed this limitation, creating a digital connection directly between candidates and voters, which is also a great alternative to the traditional poster-based campaigning.”
Ahsanul Haque Abir, in this regard, said, “Our goal was to make the election process more transparent. Through jnucsu.com, voters can now compare the manifestos of all the candidates, their previous work and thoughts with one click, which will greatly help them to make an informed decision.”
However, the law for the JnUCSU election has been approved by President Mohammed Shahabuddin, on October 27, which clears the path of the election for the first time since the university establishment.
