Digital library at IU

The authorities of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia inaugurated digital library access centre on the campus in order to open reader services at its central library on Saturday. Prof Dr M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari, vice chancellor of the university, inaugurated the access centre as the chief guest at Khademul Haramain Bandshah Fahad Bin Abdul Aziz central library.

IU pro-vice-chancellor Prof Dr M Shahinoor Rahman, Treasurer Prof Dr M Selim Toha attended the function as the special guests with its acting librarian Ataru Rahman in the chair. The digital library access centre will provide a website address to the students for using the centre while the students will get all kinds of information here by searching the title or name of their desired books from any place in the home and abroad.

Acting Librarian Ataur Rahman said that around 50 thousand books have been gathering under the online access centre primarily. Prof Dr Mahbubar Rahman, convener of Library automation committee, Akkas Pathan, librarian of Khulna University of Engineering Technology (KUET) spoke out the inauguration event, among others.

Earlier, IU vice chancellor Prof Dr M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari inaugurated Data Centre along with pro-vice chancellor Prof Dr M Shahinoor Rahman and Treasurer Prof Dr M Selim Toha at applied Science and Technology building. Prof Dr Ahsan-Ul-Ambia, director of ICT cell said several services including result processing system, library automation, education roaming and internet services will provide through this Data Centre.
