Dhaka Abahani confront Uttar Baridhara

Dhaka Abahani will take on Uttar Baridhara in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) while SK Russel KC face Bangladesh Police FC at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Thursday. The first encounter between SK Russel KC and Bangladesh Police FC will run at 3:45 pm and the second match kicks off 6:15 pm at the same venue.

Abahani will be looking to keep up the momentum today against Baridhara having lost just one game from the last five. They have won two and drawn two. 

These two teams met three times before this match. The Dhanmondi outfit won all the three outings. Six times champions the sky Blue Brigade, secure third position in the 13-team table with 22 points from 11 outings. Mario Lemos won six games so far. Abahani has a good chance to win the game against Baridhara. 

On the other hand, Uttar Baridhara managed only nine points from the same amount of matches, won only one. They lost four outings. 

Meanwhile, one draw and four losses to their last five encounters in the BPL, SK Russel KC hope for winning streak against Bangladesh Police FC, and will earn three points from the match which will kick off at 3:45 pm. 

Former Champions the Bengal Blues climb to the sixth place in the 13-team table with 17 points from 11 outings. Ashraful Islam Rana, goalkeeper and the captain of SK Russel KC wants to show best performance and try to level best for winning the match. 

He said, “It is a very crucial match for the team. If we win the game that would be helpful for champion race.” If the Bengal Blues win, they will earn 20 points from 12 encounters.

On the other hand, Bangladesh Police FC, now in the eighth position, with 12 points from 11 games. They won only three matches so far. The Police want to win and upgrade their rank in the points table.

Bangladesh Police FC coach Pakir Ali hopes that his players will show their best performance and win the game. “Players have responsibility, so, it is possible to win the outings”, he said.
