A two-day development fair was inaugurated and a meeting was organized on the premises of Central Shaheed Minar in Nilphamari with the theme "One of the unique achievements of Bangladesh, transition from a least developed country to a developing country". Nilphamari District Administration organized the program on Saturday.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Nilphamari district Md Hafizur Rahman Chowdhury and Superintendent of Police (SP) Mohammed Mokhlesur Rahman inaugurated the fair with 40 stalls by releasing balloons in the sky. After the inauguration of the fair, a discussion was also held there maintain hygiene rules.
Deputry Secretary of Uttara EPZ Momin Uddin Ahmed, Deputy Commissioner (General) Azaharul Islam, District Awami League President and Municipal Mayor Dewan Kamal Ahmed, Deputy Director of Nilphamari Agriculture Extension Department Md Obaidur Rahman, Mondal Kumar Kar and Senior Assistant Engineer Saiful Islam, General Secretary of District Juba League and Chairman of Sadar Upazila Parishad Shahid Mahmud, Sadar Upazila Agriculture Officer Kamrul Hasan, CEO of Pushtibari Mehedi Hasan and many others were present there. Various government and non-government organisations took part there to make the fair successful. All the stalls have highlighted different development activities of the government.
DC Hafizur Rahman said, “Our government’s goal is to improve the living standard of each person including those from grassroots and give a decent life to them. Now our country is progressing rapidly. We have to continue the development process to make a standard place in the world map.”
