Development activities bring massive change in Kishoreganj

Having a good number of development works at Kishoreganj rural areas, a drastic change has been observing there. The rural scenario is changing with development at all levels of the district. The quality of life in rural towns has changed.

According to the ongoing project update, in the last 8 months, about 20 kilometers paved roads were built in different upazilas, 13 kilometers paved roads constructed in different unions, about 568 meters bridges and culverts were built. Besides one upazila complex, the authority concerned has also planted 7500 saplings, dug irrigation canals about 33 kilometers, constructed and renovated dams about 11 kilometers, and  20 primary schools construction has been completed. At the same time, the work of six municipals and union land offices have been completed.

The work of about four kilometer (km) road from Hossainpur to Pakundia, about 10 km GC road from Hossainpur to Bakchanda, two km road from Jashodal Madhyapara to Jashodal Ishasur has been completed. 

The construction work of 66-meter long RCC Girder Bridge on 

Nilganj GC road has been completed. 

Also, the construction work of stalled Sararchar Land Office and Dighirpar Land Office of Bajitpur Upazila has been completed. Even the laborers of the area have got 22 lakh working days of work. 

It is said that development work worth Tk 236.5598 crore has been done after the joining of Executive Engineer Md. Amirul Islam.

Due to the construction of roads, bridges, culvert canals, there has been unimaginable development in the field of agriculture along with ease of road communication. The 8.5 km long Burulia Canal at Nikli at a cost of Tk 2.61 crore has irrigated 5000 hectares of cropland in Haor. 

Agriculture scenario of Nikli has changed for that canal. In addition to the development of rural life, the life of the people of rural Bengal has returned. The contribution that Kishoreganj LGED is making to speed up rural economy and road connectivity in rural areas is visible today. LGED is building a solid foundation for development in building a developed and prosperous Bangladesh. On the other hand, the beauty of the Kishoreganj LGED office has been enhanced. Seeing that, the people who are coming get excited.

Kishoreganj District Local Government Engineering Directorate Executive Engineer Md. Amirul Islam said, “We are developing each upazila by developing a master plan so that every citizen can get benefits equally. The quality of communication system of each upazila has been increased.”

He said, “According to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s vision 2041 we will implement ‘Amar Graam, Amar Sohor’. In the Haor area, once the farmers could not take the paddy home. We have made submersible roads there, now the farmers can reach their destination by harvesting paddy before any likely natural calamity.” 

He also said that a proposed 590 meter long bridge named President Abdul Hamid from Barshikura to Sherpur village on the bank of Dhanu River in Badla Union of Itna Upazila is nearing completion. This bridge will connect Kishoreganj, Netrakona and Habiganj. This development will continue to strengthen the hands of Prime Minister. The benefits of this development will reach the people of Kishoreganj. LGED is working towards that goal.
