Dept of environment demolishes brick kilns in Bogura

Task forces of Department of Environment and the owners of brick fields dismantled and demolished six illegal brick-kilns at Shahjahanpur of Bogura on Tuesday. Those brick-kilns were being operated in the municipal area without any licenses and without any permission from the department of Environment and with no approved chimneys.

The brick kiln which was demolished by the DoE has been identified as ABF-2 bricks and five more brick kilns of the area were dismantled by the owners of those brick kilns themselves. Those are- SSB, MMB-1, MMB-2, LGK and Star Bricks. Ashrafuzzaman, Director of DoE, Rajshahi division, who headed the demolition drive informed there was no concession in demolishing of illegal brick kilns. Operation has been started and gradually all illegal brick-kilns will be demolished. 

The demolition drive of the brick kilns was attended, among others, by Abdul Malek, Addtional Deputy Commissioner (revenue), Bogura, Deputy Director of DoE Akhtaruzzaman Tuku, UNO of Shahjahanpur  Mahmuda Parvin, Executive Magistrate Jahurul Islam, Executive Magistrate Nasim Reza, President  and the General Secretary of Bogura district Brick Manufacturers' Association Abul Kalam Azad and Atiqur Rahman Badal respectively, Vice President and the General Secretary of Upazila Brick Manufacturers' Owners Association  Talebul Islam and Rafiqul Islam respectively. 

Members of Shahjahanpur thana police, APBN and fire services assisted the demolition of the brick kilns.
